Thanks to community support, construction on five new schools in the Maple Heights School District have been completed. G. Stephens, Inc. was a part of the Construction Management team of the master plan, which included 5 buildings.

The Dunham, Raymond, and Rockside schools were replaced with the Abraham Lincoln School of Early Achievement: Preschool, Kindergarten and First Grade building, John F. Kennedy School of Leadership: Second and Third Grade building, and Barack Obama School of Learning: Fourth and Fifth Grade building. In addition, the project included the abatement and demolition of Milkovich Middle School, West Junior High School and Maple Heights High School.

All buildings are masonry and steel construction with flat TPO roofs. For durability purposes, the majority of the interior walls are masonry. Configured in a double-U formation, the Kennedy School of Leadership and the Obama School of Learning share double gyms and cafeterias in the middle of the building. This unique design allows for flexible use for both school and community events. All schools sought LEED-Silver certification and were completed in time for the 2011-2012 school year.
