The MetroHealth System built a new family health center in Brecksville, Ohio and opened it during the summer of 2016. The 60,000 SF facility is located on approximately 21 acres at the southwest corner of I77 and SR 82. G. Stephens, Inc. provided project controls services as a sub-consultant to Donley’s, the construction manager. Architectural and engineering services were performed by CBLH Design and Perspectus Architecture along with Osborn Engineering. MetroHealth partnered with Signet Development to develop the site and the health center.
The facility features a freestanding emergency room, primary care services, ambulatory surgery center, advanced diagnostics’ labs and a wide range of specialties. MetroHealth’s expansion of its ambulatory network will enable it to accommodate greater access for patients to comprehensive care.
The delivery method for this project was Fast-Track Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR). This method allowed the construction to begin while overlapping a portion of the design time, affording the architect and the end users additional quality time to work out complex design issues.
